Transferring your dream home into your name requires a legal process that typically takes between six to eight weeks. However, this process may take longer as it is influenced by several factors.

The conveyancer’s role is to see the transfer through from start to completion.  This entails obtaining clearance certificates from municipalities and body corporates of sectional title units as well as legally required certificates of compliance.  Your agent will tell you more.

If you are financing the property with a mortgage bond, the lender will instruct an attorney to register the bond in the deed’s office.  We refer to them as the bond attorney.  Transfer fees and bond registration fees are payable by the purchaser.
